The true challenge lay in stripping away the sterile layers of a "condition" to reveal the human being beneath. We sought to create a representative space—a sanctuary in ink and paper—where those living with the disease could see their own reflections. This book is a testament to the fact that their stories do not just exist; they matter. It is an editorial embrace for a community that has too often been defined by a scan rather than a soul. Balancing a plurality of voices required a meticulous hand. We navigated the intersection of an elevated editorial tone and a raw, artistic character, ensuring that the project remained sensitive to the physical and emotional weight of the disease.
